Managing equipment warranty evidence

Keep commercial coverage linked to technical history.

UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT

Warranty management connects contractual coverage to equipment identity, delivery, commissioning and maintenance evidence. Coverage may depend on conditions and exclusions in the actual agreement, so a simple expiry date is only part of the record.

Capture the relevant contract reference and responsible reviewer. When an issue occurs, preserve observations, work history and supplier correspondence. Avoid assuming that a software flag determines whether a claim is valid; the agreement and supporting evidence govern the review.

Questions to take back to your team

  1. Which agreement defines coverage?
  2. What event starts the coverage period?
  3. Can the claim reviewer retrieve the maintenance and acceptance evidence?
